A Noble Intention (Publieke Werken)

In October and November 2014, Joosje went to Budapest, Hungary, to play a supporting role in the film A Noble Intention (Publieke Werken), based on the book by Thomas Rosenboom, directed by Joram Lürsen.

A Noble Intention takes place at the end of the 19th century. Joosje portrays the role of Johanna, the daughter of Bennemin (Juda Goslinga), whose poor family gets the opportunity to build up a better life when the friendly pharmacist Anijs (Jacob Derwig) and his cousin from Amsterdam, Walter Vedder (Gijs Scholten van Aschat) come up with a plan to help them move to New York.

A Noble Intention played in theaters in The Netherlands in 2015 and 2016. It received a Dutch Golden Film Status after selling over 200,000 tickets at the box office.

A Noble Intention received ten nominations for the Dutch Academy Awards. The film can currently be seen on NETFLIX worldwide.
